A Bold Teen Bedroom

Project Overview:

When putting together the room, the teen requested purple, flowers, birds, and a vanity. One of the first steps for the space was the removal of the carpet. The small size of the room made adding the vanity a challenge.  Initially, we were going to put the vanity in the closet, however, after further discussion with the family, we decided to remove the closet completely and add an armoire for clothing storage. Next, we selected a bold wallcovering with large scale flowers that are enhanced by a graceful flower chandelier. The client selected a bright purple paint color from three optional colors found in the wallcovering. Birds appear throughout the design from the ornate bronze mirror to “Birds on a Branch” wall decor and tie backs on the sheer drapery. A decorative metal bedframe adds additional interest. While a white pin-tucked comforter provides softness. A touch of glam was added with the vanity set, crystal finials on drapery hardware and the alabaster nightstand. Top/down bottom-up cellular blinds provide light and privacy when needed. The flowing sheers provide filtered light, additional privacy and charm.  A neutral rug grounds the room and provides a soft landing for her feet in the morning when she gets out of bed.
